I feel like a Jewish grandma when I talk about 2008, like I should always include a little spittle to the ground in its reference. 2008 was a time that changed me forever.
To attempt to tell you what that year was for me, I will break the story into three posts over the course of this week.
It hinged on one of those moments that break your reality. Times when you stand before a crowd of people, and vow to love one person until death. You are now a spouse, not a single. Moments like seeing a tiny creature emerge from your body or your spouse’s, and you terrifyingly give it a name. You are now “Mama” or “Daddy” for the rest of your life.
Most of those moments are breath-taking. Others still are gut-wrenching. 2008 held one of latter.
